## The Challenge

 

The Association was using a member management platform that did not meet their specific needs, generating high monthly costs and inefficiencies in quota management and communication processes.

 

## The Solution

 

Avantit developed a custom application using SharePoint Framework (SPFx). This solution allows for full member management, quota payment control, and automated notification sending (payments and birthdays), all integrated into the Microsoft 365 ecosystem the association was already using.

The Crohn/Colite Portugal Association is a non-profit entity dedicated to supporting patients with Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis, promoting the improvement of their quality of life.

### Business Challenge

The association faced difficulties with their previous management platform, which besides representing a significant monthly cost, did not offer the necessary flexibility. Member management was complex, and simple features like quota notifications or birthdays required manual effort or didn’t exist.

### Solution Overview

Avantit leveraged the existing Microsoft 365 licensing (often free or heavily discounted for NGOs) to build a custom solution with no additional licensing costs. The SPFx application allows users to:

 

- Create and edit member records.

- Manage quota status.

- Automate email sending for payment notices.

- Send automatic birthday messages.
