## The Challenge

 

Safety reports were paper-based, reaching the safety director days after incidents. Near-misses went largely unreported due to bureaucratic friction.

 

## The Solution

 

Mobile Power Apps canvas app optimized for use with gloves on rugged tablets. Workers log incidents in 3 taps with geotagged photos. Power Automate escalates severe incidents via Teams and SMS within 2 minutes. Power BI dashboards reveal risk patterns across sites.

 

### Overview

A national construction company managing 12 active sites with 800+ workers needed to modernize safety incident reporting and enable data-driven risk prevention.

### Challenge

Paper-based safety reports arrived at the safety office 2-5 days after events. Near-miss reporting was extremely low because workers avoided the paperwork. No capability to identify recurring risk patterns across sites or subcontractors.

### Solution

We developed a Power Apps canvas app designed for construction site conditions — large buttons, simplified forms, offline mode, and camera integration with automatic GPS tagging. Power Automate handles severity-based escalation, notifying the safety director of critical incidents in under 2 minutes. Power BI dashboards provide incident heat maps, trend analysis, and safety scorecards per site and subcontractor.
